Why can’t we drill while the Democrats are looking for alternate energy sources?

I have yet to understand why the democratic controlled congress thinks we can’t drill while at the same time search for alternate energy solutions. Why do they want to put all their eggs in one bag?

Imagine if you had a loved one diagnosed with cancer and the doctor said he would not treat him/her with current medicine but simply wait for research to come up with a cure.

It makes no sense to me… why not do both?

I also don’t understand why they would want oil companies to drill on leased land that they know will cost them over .00 to produce a gallon of gasoline? That’s the same as saying don’t drill while we watch other countries go for the easy oil off the continental shelf that they cost them .50 a gallon to produce.

Tell us "been there done that," since I’m not a geologists, how much does it cost to bring that oil to market on the leased areas that you speak of at the current price of .00 a gallon? What would you say it would cost to get it, .00 or .00. Let us know and we will pass it along.

Anyway, just let us know how much cheaper it would cost to drill on those leases instead of the continental shelf?

Just in case you didn’t understand my question, I don’t think we should drill just to make holes in the ground. I sort of had the idea that we would use those holes to get oil out and sell it on the market cheaper than our cost. It’s one of those business concepts.

I agree Emocrat… if we were that smart, but corporate America wants money right now and due to the sec and stockholder reports, they can harly look further than the next quarter, much less a couple of years.

It would be nice if we could look that far ahead and corporate American could have enough cash reserves to hold them until that point. But they can’t even pay the health care for their workers hardly so at best it is just a dream.

  1. Well of course were going to need fuel for our cars. Everyone acts like the oil is just going to stop and everyone will have to walk to work or something. We would have to keep drilling and in the meantime look for alternative energy…I highly doubt gasoline is going to go down further than $4.00 a gallon. We have such a high demand for oil; and I think it’s going to get harder to reach oil and there for more expensive for us to buy
