What an alternate form of energy production be rather than burning coal to supply people with electricity?
what is another possible way for us to get electricity to our houses rather than burning coal?
Because..
1. The coal will soon run out
2. The fumes from the burning process at the power plants is helping the greenhouse effect and global warming.
Could you please when you answer give referances to me.
Thankyou.

True there are other forms of power that are getting a lot of press lately, however, most of them are not feesable at this time. Making wind energy or solar a primary source for power is just not a good idea because the technology is not capable of satisfying our need.
Your statement that coal will soon run out is also very far off base. Be careful not to let politics overshadow fact. There are a lot of misguided reports being passed around that are more to create fear than present facts. The "fact" is that at currently projected growth rates, we have enough coal to meet out needs for the next 250 yrs. And that is a conservative estimate. As far as CO2 emissions are concerned, we already have the ability to sequester it using coal gasification which has almost no bad emissions (most are collected or controlled, look into IGCC Gasification technology).
The only other viable forms of generating energy on a large scale would include nuclear, hydo (in some areas) and geothermal (although this one is still risky).

UCG(Underground Coal Gasification) is the way forward, but not with IGCC, rather it will be with low cost fuel cells like those from AFC Energy http://www.afcenergy.com which are about 10% of the cost of other fuel cells.
The benefit of fuel cells is they are much more efficient than IGCC, giving circa double the power output for the same amount of coal. Also they offer 99% CO2 capture(IGCC is 90% max).
Waste2Tricity http://www.waste2tricity.com are a company using AFC Energy fuel cells, they have a MOU with Thornton New Energy of the UK to use the fuel cells on the UCG project at the Firth of Fourth in Scotland
