Some sources of energy are non-renewable in that there is only so much oil, coal, etc. to be mined, and some day it will be all gone.

In some nations, they get their energy by burning down trees, denying themselves the products that could be obtained by timber. There's a lot of that going on in good old USA, with respect to land planning that kind of invites excess forest fires.

Some sources are renewable, such as biofuels from agriculture, but there is a trade-off ... the more we get energy from agriculture, the less we get food ... if the farm animals starve, we can feed much less population.

Some sources are dependent on weather patterns, such as hydro-electric ... seasonal how much rainwater to feed streams ... placement along coasts where there are decent tides ... get water in one direction, then other direction, need to design equipment to handle either direction.

Wind farms same deal ... if no wind, not get much energy, so the technology needs to be able to get whatever it can, irrespective of how strong the winds.

There's a lot of space not being used effectively ... we could have on roofs of buildings ... solar panels to get solar energy when the sun is out ... wind turbine to get energy from wind when it is blowing.

Look at astronomy ... there's all that sunlight steraming past our planet, going to waste ... we could put stuff in orbit to capture that energy & redirect it to where we need to use it.
