how can hydrogen and fuel cells be used as an alternate energy?

Hydrogen’s exhaust is water vapor. Currently it’s not economically feasable to produce hydrogen for cars. The ratio of power to energy produced isn’t there yet, but i’m hoping that it becomes a reality soon.
Wouldn’t it be great to fill you fuel tank at home to energize your house…?
