Answer me this, If we have 3% of the oil reserves but use 25% of the worlds oil how can we become oil ?
independent EVER? I get the whole alternate energy thing but why has McCain said we need to drill baby drill as a way to become oil independent? Sorry but by my figures we’re lacking a lot of oil to do that.

Part of the problem with McCain’s pitch is that there is not enough capacity in the ENTIRE WORLD to build 45 nuclear plants in ten years. The companies which produce reactor vessels can only make a few per year, and the United States has neither the technology nor the expertise to do it ourselves anymore. And it takes about 4 years and $5 billion to build each one of those plants.
