A very complicated question involving human conciousness, alternate dimensions and some aspects of quantum phy
What constitutes human conciousness? what makes uas have the ability to have conversations with ourselves in our head? When we die, where does the energy that fuels our conciousness go? because I know there is a law in physics where it says energy. Is there a chance that our conciousness, or that " animating energy" of our body can go to an alternate dimension in space? How does such a complex thing as the energy of human conciousness " shut down" if it doesnt go to an alternate dimension? What are quarks and " the string theory" and how do they work? What are the laws that govern subatomic particles and is there a chance they might be at work in fueling human conciousness? is it POSSIBLE that there could be " life after death" in the form of the energy of the human conciousness going to a different dimension? If you dont know, where could i go to figure it out book-wize
hurrah! i have the elegant universe in my bookcase ! ![]()
there is a law in physics which says that energy is neither created nor destroyed….sheesh! i didnt even finish that freakin sentence.. :/

1) We’re not sure yet.
2) The energy in your body is radiated out as heat energy when you die. It is certainly conserved – it’s released as heat.
3) No. When physicists talk about other dimensions, they don’t mean it in the same ways a science fiction writers. Other dimensions aren’t places you can go – they are micro-spacial dimensions built into our own world. You’re already in them, you just don’t realize because they are so small they don’t seem to affect you.
4) String theory is the idea that everything is made up of vibrating strings on the smallest level. Quarks are somewhat larger than the strings and make up electrons, protons, and neutrons.
5) Yes, quantum mechanics applies to your brain. But probably not in the way you’re thinking. It says nothing about a life after death, or human consciousness. It’s just the laws that govern small particles. I’m not sure why so many people try to use quantum mechanics to explain their crazy theories about life, but really, it has nothing to do with it. I think they’re just hoping that no one will know enough to know that they are talking out of their ass.
6) Try reading Brian Greene’s ‘The Elegant Universe’. And next time someone tells you something happens because of quantum mechanics, ask them to write down the wave equation of that interaction.
