New Wind Turbine Design Good for Rural, Urban Environment
VOAvideo asked:
Wind power is one of the fastest growing forms of alternative energy in the world. More and more, wind power mills are seen in the countryside, in large wind farms and for the most part, away from city life. But a new form of wind power is now designed to work in an urban environment. VOA producer Zulima Palacio has the story. Mill Arcega narrates.

If I am not mistaken, Helix Wind people were the first to build those kind of wind generators.

You can find the link to the company via Google. Search for windspire. I’d post the URL here, but Youtube is being retarded and won’t post a comment with anything even *resembling* a URL.

Hey, this is a cool video…
I was bored out of my mind one day and had this idea for this website where anyone can post about anything they want when they are bored. It is really funny to read all the random things people say.
Here is the web address(sorry, Youtube will not let me put a link in here):
boredoutofmyfreakingmind(.)com
Please visit the site. I am trying to get some more posts to give the site a proper kick off. Thanks for your support!!

they used to use these in a prototype boat that would release no emissions but rather move from the high amounts of wind over the water propelling them, used in discovery show Green Earth i believe is the name

The first windmill was vertical axis, and was used by the Persians thousands of years ago.

Free Energy, the government can’t make money off of that. Wind/Solar/Geothermal are the future energy sources!

I know these shucksters and have met them personally. This a 100% a scam. The deal is they want to get the subsidy from the government and sell you crap that is almost free (after the tax credit). These turbines are not efficient and have been around for 100 years. Sad to see scammers like these.

Except that they produce power at 50% the efficiency of horizontal axis types. The load on lower bearings is also a problem.

They’re US$5K and require no special electrical knowledge; plugs-in to an outlet in your home circuit and spins your meter backwards.
Expect another $1K for installation, no crane required; use a Gin-Pole.
It’s not a Savonius, but another foil type.

9 metres high for 30% power saving is no use,and any wider would be ridiculous in your garden.
Go back to the drawing board.

I totally agree with the concept
it`s a future and soon I`ll get one of those for my house to be independent.

Vertical axis makes way more sense
for so many reasons.
