my first attempt at my home wind turbine

windysolar1 asked:

how cheap can you build a home wind turbine from ebay.co.uk
dont put them near trees as this creates turbulence and get it as high as you can for extra power

Nice job mate better than paying £850 for similar, on f/energy pmg watch out for moisture& rust getting behind black prop boss, bearing starts squeeking then goes lazy =no power (id on mine), not sealed properly either end unfortunately

  6. Thanks for the comment
My turbine is not in the sky at the present but will be back up real soon once a few mods are finished and there should be a vid showing the erecting of the tower and turbine with the help of many friends.
Keep an eye on my site for new vids.

that’s very awesome. I wish I had to brains to do one of these. You could probably make some money writing a book on ‘how to’ for this.

  8. show us how to make it!

  9. Nice idea but probably more losses of power.
think I will just mod the mount.

  10. us a tranformator

  11. yes it will furl when I have finished the tail construction

  12. does it furl? I’ planning my own axial flux now.

  13. check out my wind power vids…

  14. cheap keyboard? lol

  15. sorry about the spelling ,cheap keyboard.

  16. Fist thing is to check what your average wind speed is before buying anything .
you may not have enough wind.

futurenergy build a good slow spinning turbine which will work fine (same generator as mine ) and at £650.00 a bargain check out what voltage is required 12v 24v 36v 48v ?.
I recommend a SMA Sunny boy controller to go with a wind turbine SB1100lv 24v to 60v input with 230v output.G83 compliant,About £700.00 for the sunny boy.pus tower and extras.

  17. Hi,

Just very interested – what power wind turbine would you recommend to have electricity and heating for a private home of 150 m2?

  18. outstanding job…no bills no worries..

  19. 600watts at 50amps at 380rpm but in a gale upto 1000watts as long as its well mounted on the ground.
    so build them strong.
When I erect it very soon I am planing to video the whole procedure for all to see on youtube.

It should be a great video and very informative.

  20. What’s the power output in Watts?

  21. As far as I can see the government in this country doesn’t want us the public to control any part of our lives and this includes saving and producing power, because this reduces tax from the power company pocket and takes it away from the politicians who so really enjoy spending our money. This is my only goal in life to take money from them where it hurts in there pockets(they just waist it so I want to save it)and yes I originate long ago from Scotland I am Told.

This is an old vid now ,but the newly designed improved turbine will be back up at 10m hight as soon as planning restrictions are not needed when Europe have finished scrutinising its spec for the UK

  23. How much did it all cost to buy and install, and how much are you saving each year? I’m thinking of doing one myself.

  24. cool i am in the usa and we the hole country should do it
